不太好的“好运”A Not so good "good luck"

yǒu yí cì, wǒ cóng zhuā wá wa jī lǐ zhuā dào le hǎo dà yí ge wá wa,zhè běnláishì yí jiàn gāoxìng de shì'ér, què ràng wǒ kū xiào bù dé...

有一次，我从抓娃娃机里抓到了好大一个娃娃，这本来是一件高兴的事儿，却让我哭笑不得……

Once, I caught a big doll from a claw machine. It was supposed to be a happy thing, but it made me laugh and cry…

yǒu yì tiān, wǒ dài zhe Ēnlín hé Àilín qù guàng shāngchǎng, tā men yì yǎn jiù bèi shāngchǎng lǐ de zhuā wá wa jī mí zhù le,  lā zhe wǒ de shǒu jiù wǎng lǐ zǒu. wǒ yì biān yáo tóu, yì biān gàosu tā men zhuā wá wa jī shì piàn rén de, néng zhuā zhù wá wa de jīlǜ zhǐyǒu bǎi fēn zhī wǔshí.

有一天，我带着恩霖和爱霖去逛 商场，他们一眼就被 商场  里的抓娃娃 机迷住了，拉着我的手就往里走。我一边摇头，一边告诉他们 抓娃娃机是骗 人的，能抓住娃娃的几率只有百分之五十。

One day, I took Enly and Elynn to the mall. They were fascinated by the claw machines at first sight and pulled my hand to walk straight in. I shook my head and told them that the claw machines were a lie. The probability of people catching a doll was only 50%.

Ēnlín kàn le kàn wǒ, zhuǎn guò tóu duì Àilín shuō: "māma piàn rén, wǒ kàn dào hǎo duō rén dōu zhuā dào guò wá wa.''

恩霖看了看我，转过头对爱霖说：“妈妈骗人，我看到 好多人 都 抓 到 过娃娃。”

Enly looked at me, and then turned to Elynn and said, "Mommy is lying. I have seen many people catch dolls."

wǒ yáo le yáo tóu, juédìng ràng tā men yǎn jiàn wéi shí. yúshì, wǒ suíbiàn zhǎole  yí  ge  jīqì, ránhòu wǎng jīqì lǐ tóu le yì méi wǔ yuán yìngbì,  jiù kāishǐ  le wǒ rénshēng zhōng de dì yī zhuā. Ēnlín hé Àilín zhàn zài wǒ shēn páng, jǐnzhāng de dīng zhe jīqì. wǒ xīn lǐ yì biān déyì, yì biān xiǎng zhe yào gěi Ēnlín yí ge jiàoxùn. wǒ zhǎo hǎo le jīqì, xuǎn hǎo le wá wa, jiù àn xià le kāishǐ jiàn. suīrán shì zuò xì, wǒ yījiù hěn rènzhēn. chū hū yìliào de shì, wá wa jiù zhè yàng bèi wǒ zhuā le qǐ lái. Ēnlín hé Àilín xiān shì dèng dà le yǎnjīng, ránhòu jiù huānhū zhe tiào le qǐ lái, yì biān tiào, yì biān gěi wǒ gǔzhǎng.wǒ yě jīngyà de dèng dà le yǎnjīng, zhè yùnqì yě tài hǎo le ba ！

我摇了摇头，决定让他们眼见为实。于是，我随便找了一个机器，然后往机器里投了一枚五元硬币，就开始了我人生中的第一抓。  恩霖和爱霖站在我  身旁，紧张地盯着机器。我心里一边得意，一边想着要给恩霖一个教训。我找好了机器，选好了娃娃，就按下了开始键。虽然是做戏，我依旧很认真。出乎意料的是，娃娃就这样被我抓了起来。恩霖和爱霖先是瞪大了眼睛，然后就欢呼着跳了起来，一边跳，一边给我鼓掌。我也惊讶地瞪大了眼睛，这运气也太好了吧！

I shook my head and decided to let them see it with their own eyes. So, I found a machine at random, and then put a five-yuan coin into the machine, and started my first grab in my life. Enly and Elynn stood beside me, staring at the claws of the machine nervously. I was proud in my heart, and at the same time I thought about teaching Enly a lesson. I found the machine, selected the doll, and pressed the start button. Although it was a show, I was still acting very seriously. Contrary to expectations, the doll was caught by me. Enly and Elynn first widened their eyes, and then they jumped up, cheering and clapping. I also widened my eyes in surprise. What a luck!

Àilín fǎnyìng kuài, yì bǎ jiù qiǎng zǒu le wá wa, Ēnlín yě bú jìjiào,  tā kàn le kàn wǒ, duì Àilín shuō:" hǎo ba, zhè ge gěi nǐ, fǎnzhèng māma hěn lìhài, wǒ ràng māma zài gěi wǒ zhuā yí ge." bèi Ēnlín zhème yì shuō, wǒ yě bù hǎo yìsi jùjué le. zuò māma de, zǒng děi yào gōngpíng yì diǎn. yúshì, wǒ yòu tóu le yí cì bì.  zhè yí cì,  wǒ méiyǒu zhuā dào.

爱霖反应快，一把就抢走了娃娃，恩霖也不计较，他看了看我，对爱霖说：“好吧，这个给你，反正妈妈很厉害，我让妈妈再给我抓一个。”被恩霖这么一说，我也不好意思拒绝了。做妈妈的，总得要公平一点。于是，我又投了一次币。这一次，我没有抓到。

Elynn reacted quickly and snatched the doll away. Enly didn't argue. He looked at me and said to Elynn: "Okay, this one is for you. Mom is so good at this anyways, she will catch another one for me." After hearing what Enly had said, I was embarrassed to refuse. As a mother, I have to be fair. So, I threw the coin again. This time, I didn't catch it.

Ēnlín míngxiǎn yǒu diǎn shīwàng, bù tíng de wèn wǒ wèishénme? wǒ ānwèi le tā yí xià, juédìng zài shì yí cì, kěshì zài jiē xià lái de hěn cháng yí duàn shíjiān lǐ, wǒ hái shì yí ge dōu méiyǒu zhuā dào. yuè shì zhuā bú dào, wǒ jiù yuè shì jiào jìn. yǎn kàn zhe shēn shang de yìngbì dōu huā guāng le, wǒ cái yìshí dào yuánlái zhuā wá wa jī zhuā de bú shì yùnqì,shì xīn lǐ.

恩霖明显有点失望，不停地问我为什么？我安慰了他一下，决定再试一次，可是在接下来的很长一段时间里，我还是一个都没有抓到。越是抓不到，我就越是较劲。眼看着身上的硬币都花光了，我才意识到原来抓娃娃机抓的不是运气，是心理。

Enly was obviously a little bit disappointed so he kept asking me why? I comforted him and decided to try again, but for a long time afterwards, I still didn't catch any. The more I couldn't catch it, the more  competitive I became. Seeing that all the coins  I brought were spent, I realized that the claw machine was not about luck, but psychology.

wǒ gǎnjǐn tíng le xià lái, dài zhe Ēnlín hé Àilín wǎng wài zǒu. Ēnlín kàn le kàn wǒ, kùnhuò de wèn:"māma, wèishénme nǐ dì yī cì zhuā dào le, hòumiàn què zhuā bú dào ne?" wǒ kàn le kàn tā, huídá:" kàn, zhuā wá wa jī shì piàn rén de ba! wǒ gàosu guò nǐ, zhuā dào de jīlǜ shì bǎi fēn zhī wǔshí, xiànzài kàn lái, wǒ juéde shì bǎi fēn zhī wǔ."

我赶紧停了下来，带着恩霖和爱霖往外走。恩霖看了看我，困惑地问：“妈妈，为什么你第一次抓到了，后面却抓不到呢？”我看了看他，回答：“看，抓娃娃机是骗人的吧！我告诉过你，抓到的几率是百分之五十，现在看来，我觉得是百分之五。”

I quickly stopped and walked out with Enly and Elynn. Enly looked at me and asked in confusion, "Mom, why did you catch it the first time but not the others?" I looked at him and replied, "Look, claw machines are a scam! I told you that the chance of catching it is 50%, but now I think it's 5%."
